Spent a very interesting morning visiting your Museum and unexpectedly found reference to my own family name (itself very unusual) amonst the Officer's listed for the South African Campaign - prompting further research!

I spent a wonderful afternoon with the curator of the museum when we contributed the war journal of Mr. John Foster. I would like to get in touch with the curator before the Guild and arrange to meet her again. Would you share this request with her? I want to find out about the records of my father, Harry Douglas Foster, during WWI.

Thank you for any help that you can give me. Wendy Foster Leigh

Thank you for your kind comments. Your request will be passed on to our curator, Jane, who I know will be delighted to see you

I have a group photo circa 1940 of " 8 Pln. A Coy 1st South Lancs". All the members are named at the foot of the photo. I would be happy to send it to you if you can provide an email address to which I can attach the picture.
