How did First World War soldiers entertain themselves in the trenches without radio or TV?

By creating art with anything they could find.

Come and see our Trench Art and we will have a go at making a Trench Art Snake, just like the one below!

This beaded snake was made during the First World War by a Prisoner of War.

There is a small cost of £1 per child. Entry to the Museum is free.

2014 – “Flanders Rose” – Mons to Ypres 1914 – On the centenary of the outbreak of the World War I, it is fitting that the Friends should once again return to Flanders to study the early stages of the Great War – September 10-18 (provisional).

2015 – “Waterloo Rose” – Waterloo 1815 – On the bicentennial of the iconic battle, where else could we go but back to the hallowed ground where the future of Europe was changed forever? – May 30 – June 6 (provisional)
